Para llevarlo a cabo establece, en primer lugar, los protocolos de adquisici\u00f3n de la imagen, es decir, las condiciones t\u00e9cnicas y cl\u00ednicas para obtener la imagen a partir de la cual diagnosticar.  en segundo lugar, se desarrollan y comparan cinco algoritmos de segmentaci\u00f3n, cuyas misiones consisten en aislar la quemadura del resto de elementos de la imagen. Para llevar a cabo la segmentaci\u00f3n la informaci\u00f3n que se ha tenido en cuenta es el color.  a continuaci\u00f3n, a partir de la zona segmentada se obtienen una serie de descriptores que representar\u00e1n las caracter\u00edsticas de color y textura de la misma. De entre estos descriptores se seleccionar\u00e1n aqu\u00e9llos con mayor poder discriminatorio.  a los p\u00edxeles pertenecientes a la zona segmentada se les calculan los descriptores anteriores, y \u00e9stos constituir\u00e1n las entradas a un clasificador, que obtendr\u00e1 como resultado el grado de la quemadura.
