La utilizaci\u00f3n de estos ligandos en la s\u00edntesis de complejos plano-cuadrados introduce quiralidad en los complejos, es una situaci\u00f3n que resulta sorprendente por cuanto que los conceptos e quiralidad y planaridad parecen contrapuestos. los complejos se obtienen como una mezcla cis\/trans con respecto a la posici\u00f3n relativa de los grupos arilo. Los is\u00f3meros cis\/trans experimentan procesos de isomerizaci\u00f3n, para el cual se proponen dos mecanismos de reacci\u00f3n por los que tiene lugar este proceso.  tambi\u00e9n se han sintetizado metilcomplejos de paladio(ii) son ligandos bidentados nitr\u00f3geno dadores del tipo 2-(arn=ch)c5h4n.
