mx12 debido a su particular extremo carboxilo, exhibe unas caracter\u00edsticas muy diferentes a p38alfa.  en particular,  a,- responde de manera distinta a est\u00edmulos externos, particularmente a mit\u00f3genos.  b,- se muestra insensible a inhibidores tanto qu\u00edmicos como fisiol\u00f3gicos: imidazoles y fosfatasas.  c,- presenta baja afinidad por sustratos bien conocidos de p38.  mx12 se une a erk1\/2 espec\u00edficamente tanto en el contexto celular como fisiol\u00f3gico.  mx12 atenua la tasa de defosforilaci\u00f3n de erk.  mx12 regula las funciones de erk de una manera dependiente de la sublocalizaci\u00f3n celular potenciando los eventos que tienen lugar en el n\u00facleo pero sin afectar las funciones citoplasmicas de erk debido presumiblemente a la localizaci\u00f3n
