Adem\u00e1s, se han estudiado sus propiedades biol\u00f3gicas por interacci\u00f3n del complejo a distintas concentraciones con cultivos de c\u00e9lulas humanas neopl\u00e1sicas diferentes y por espectroscop\u00eda de dicroismo cirucular. La f\u00f3rmula de la sustancia aislada es la siguiente:  (ru3+ (aid-h2)2 (h2o)cl3)  en la que el i\u00f3n met\u00e1lico se sit\u00faa en un entorno octa\u00e9drico, con el plano ecuatorial ocupado por dos \u00e1tomos de nitr\u00f3geno en posiciones contiguas y dos \u00e1tomos de cloro situados en posiciones cis. Las otras dos posiciones (eje principal) est\u00e1n ocupadas por el tercer \u00e1tomo de cloro y una mol\u00e9cula de agua coordinada.  el estudio magn\u00e9tico llevado a cabo confirma el estado trivalente del i\u00f3n met\u00e1lico y corresponde a la existencia de un electr\u00f3n desapareado. su variaci\u00f3n con la temperatura es t\u00edpica de un sistema de cinco electrones d con una degeneraci\u00f3n total de seis, y existencia de acoplamiento esp\u00edn orbita.  el estudio citot\u00f3xico demuestra una actividad antitumoral muy destacable frente a los tres tumores humanos estudiados, con un valor del id50 inferior al correspondiente a fibroblastos humanos.
