Se han estudiado diferentes par\u00e1metros cardiorrespiratorios antes y durante la anestesia de 150 animales sometidos a anestesia inhalatoria con este agente para la realizaci\u00f3n de diversos procedimientos quir\u00fargicos o diagn\u00f3sticos. los animales fueron premedicados con atropina (10 ug\/kg im) y seg\u00fan el sedante empleado se dividieron en dos grupos, medetomidina (10 ug\/kg) y romifidina (40 ug\/kg). La inducci\u00f3n anest\u00e9sica fue realizada con propofol (2 mg\/kg) v\u00eda intravenosa. El mantenimiento anest\u00e9sico se realiz\u00f3 con desfluorano vehiculado en o2.  las variables cardiorrespiratorias, temperatura, saturaci\u00f3n de hemoglobina en sangre perif\u00e9rica, concentraci\u00f3n final espirada de co2, vol\u00famenes tidal y minuto, tiempos de recuperaci\u00f3n y porcentaje de desfluorano necesario para mantener la anestesia fueron los par\u00e1metros estudiados global y parcialmente seg\u00fan el sedante utilizado y el riesgo anest\u00e9sico (asa) del paciente.  hemos observado un descenso significativo de la frecuencia cardiaca, frecuencia respiratoria, temperatura y presiones arteriales durante la anestesia con desfluorano respecto a los valores basales y en sedaci\u00f3n. las presiones arteriales fueron m\u00e1s altas en el lote medetomidina mientras que el porcentaje de desfluorano necesario para mantener la anestesia fue mayor en el lote romifidina. El lote asa iii present\u00f3 los valores m\u00e1s bajos en la frecuencia cardiaca, temperatura y presiones arteriales, el tiempo de extubaci\u00f3n fue tambi\u00e9n mayor que en los lotes asa ii y i, siendo en este \u00fatlimo donde se present\u00f3 el menor tiempo de dec\u00fabito esternal. As\u00ed mismo, no se vieron diferencias significativas respecto a la saturaci\u00f3n de ox\u00edgeno en sangre arterial, la fracci\u00f3n final espirada de co2, y los vol\u00famenes tidal y minuto,
