Sin embargo los resultados obtenidos con los denominados antiangiog\u00e9nicos no han sido los esperados.  en el presente trabajo experimental se analiza el crecimiento de un tumor muy agresivo, como el melamona del rat\u00f3n, en un lecho (tobillo de la pata posterior derecha) angiog\u00e9nicamente esterilizado por las radiaciones ionizantes aplicadas a altas dosis. Los resultados demuestran que el citado tumor no s\u00f3lo es capaz de crecer en condiciones de nula respuesta angiog\u00e9nica, sino que adem\u00e1s adopta un patr\u00f3n de crecimiento distinto y aparentemente m\u00e1s agresivo. Adem\u00e1s no presenta signos histol\u00f3gicos de angiog\u00e9nesis. Por otro lado se confirma que un tumor que crece en un lecho irradiado sufre un retraso en el crecimiento.  los hechos referidos demuestran, tambi\u00e9n, que el melanoma del rat\u00f3n es capaz de crecer sin neovascularizaci\u00f3n aprovechando \u00fanicamente los vasos preexistentes en el m\u00fasculo del lecho receptor.  todo esto puede justificar, en parte, los pobres resultados obtenidos
