Para ello, hemos llevado a cabo el estudio de la funci\u00f3n de los genes mads de guisante peam1, peam4 y peam6 previamente aislados en nuestro laboratorio mediante dos tipos de abordajes experimentales:  (i) analilzando el fenotipo resultante de su expresi\u00f3n constitutiva en plantas silvestres de arabidopsis thaliana y de antirrhinum majus.  (ii) ensayando su capacidad de complementar mutantes de arabidopsis.  tambi\u00e9n se ha estudiado la interacci\u00f3n entre los genes peam4 y peam6, testando la interacci\u00f3n entre los polip\u00e9ptidos que codifican utilizando el sistema de doble h\u00edbrido en levaduras, as\u00ed como estudiando su interacci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica en plantas transg\u00e9nicas de arabidopsis. Los resultados de la expresi\u00f3n constitutiva de peam1 en plantas silvestres de arabidopsis y de tabaco apoyan la hip\u00f3tesis de que peam1 funciona como un gen de identidad de \u00f3rgano floral de tipo b. Adem\u00e1s. El hecho de que la construcci\u00f3n 35s:peam1 sea capaz de complementar la mutaci\u00f3n pi-1 de arabidopsis, pero no las mutaci\u00f3nes ap3-1 o ap3-3, confirma que peam1 es el hom\u00f3logo funcional de guisante del gen pi. Los resultados del estudio funcional de peam4 indican que este gen es el hom\u00f3logo funcional del guisante del gen ap1 de arabidopsis, y adem\u00e1s que, a pesar de carecer de la secuencia del motivo de prenilaci\u00f3n presente en ap1, comparte con \u00e9ste tanto la capacidad de funcionar como un gen de identidad de meristemo floral como la de especificar la identidad de los \u00f3rganos del periantio, pudiendo, por tanto, actuar como un gen de funci\u00f3n a. Los resultados de la expresi\u00f3n constitutiva de peam6 concuerdan con la hip\u00f3tesis de que peam6 pueda estar implicado en el proceso de la iniciaci\u00f3n floral de guisante, sugerida previamente a partir de las evidencias gen\u00e9ticas que correlacionan a este gen con la mutaci\u00f3n veg1 de guisante, y<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
