La aplicaci\u00f3n de modelos matem\u00e1ticos adecuados ha ayudado a este desarrollo tanto a nivel cient\u00edfico como industrial. La adecuada descripci\u00f3n del sistema requiere, adem\u00e1s del conocimiento de los fen\u00f3menos que tienen lugar a escala microsc\u00f3pica, tener en cuenta los posibles efectos que el crecimiento de la part\u00edcula polim\u00e9rica y el modelo flujo considerado puedan tener en el funcionamiento del reactor y en las propiedades del pol\u00edmero producido. De esta manera se pueden considerar tres escalas en el modelado: microescala (cin\u00e9tica de la polimerizaci\u00f3n), mesoescala (fen\u00f3menos en la part\u00edcula de pol\u00edmero) y macroescala (comportamiento a nivel del reactor).  el principal objetivo de esta tesis es el modelado completo de la polimerizaci\u00f3n de olefinas en reactores industriales, integrando los fen\u00f3menos que tienen lugar a diferentes escalas. Esto exige, en primer lugar, el estudio de dicha polimerizaci\u00f3n a escala de la part\u00edcula (dejando aparte el estudio cin\u00e9tico) para ver la evoluci\u00f3n de las propiedades de la part\u00edcula a lo largo del tiempo de reacci\u00f3n.  en la segunda parte se ha modelado el funcionamiento de dos reactores industriales, el reactor tanque continuo (fase \u00abslurry\u00bb) y el reactor multizona con recirculaci\u00f3n (fase gas).
