Asi en los primeros capitulos se definen los conceptos de optimo de pareto y de solucion propiamente eficiente, dando los resultados que los caracterizan y relacionan entre si. Posteriormente, se proporciona una base teorica a alguno de los metodos de determinacion de soluciones que se desarrollan posteriormente.  dentro de las tecnicas generadoras, se han implementado los metodos de las ponderaciones y de las restricciones, y se ha desarrollado un algoritmo, llamado de conjunto activo, para delimitar el conjunto eficiente en el caso particular del problema con restricciones lineales.
