Por otro lado, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se ha defendido el uso de la visi\u00f3n foveal (y, en particular, de la visi\u00f3n log-polar) en el contexto de la visi\u00f3n activa.  en este \u00e1mbito de la visi\u00f3n activa, la estimaci\u00f3n de movimiento es un tema de gran inter\u00e9s, y resulta fundamental para tareas como el seguimiento activo de objetos m\u00f3viles.  sin embargo, a pesar de los muchos m\u00e9todos publicados sobre estimaci\u00f3n de movimiento, \u00e9stos no siempre son directamente aplicables al problema aqu\u00ed expuesto.  por un lado, su ineficiencia no les hace aptos para las restricciones temporales impuestas en problemas visi\u00f3n activa. Por otro lado, estas t\u00e9cnicas asumen im\u00e1genes cartesianas, muestreadas uniformemente, premisa inapropiada para im\u00e1genes foveales.  por ello, en esta tesis se proponen algoritmos de estimaci\u00f3n de movimiento en im\u00e1genes con geometr\u00eda log-polar. Las t\u00e9cnicas desarrolladas son eficientes, y explotan algunas caracter\u00edsticas de este tipo de im\u00e1genes. La validaci\u00f3n experimental de estos algoritmos se ha realizado no s\u00f3lo con movimientos sint\u00e9ticos, sino tambi\u00e9n con su aplicaci\u00f3n al seguimiento activo de objetos reales.  los resultados obtenidos muestran que la estimaci\u00f3n de movimiento juega un importante papel en el inseparable binomio formado por la visi\u00f3n activa y la visi\u00f3n foveal. As\u00ed, cada componente del nuevo trinomio (visi\u00f3n activa, im\u00e1genes log-polares, y estimaci\u00f3n de movimiento) se beneficia m\u00fatuamente de los otros
