Rhizobium leguminosarum bv.Viciae posee un conjunto de genes que se expresa espec\u00edficamente en condiciones microaer\u00f3bicas, tanto en cultivos como en simbiosis. La mayor\u00eda est\u00e1n bajo el control del regulador microaer\u00f3bico fnrn. Aunque algunos de estos genes son necesarios para el funcionamiento de la simbiosis, la mayor\u00eda no lo son, lo que sugiere que juegan un papel en el crecimiento y supervivencia de la bacteria en ambientes microaer\u00f3bicos no simbi\u00f3ticos, como la rizosfera o los suelos encharcados. Las funciones inferidas para los genes microaer\u00f3bicos son diversas: oxidasas terminales, transportadores de membrana, enzimas del catabolismo de amino\u00e1cidos, prote\u00ednas de homeostaris de calcio, chaperonas de diferentes tipos, reguladores, etc. Estos genes se encuentran localizados en los cinco replicones que constituyen el genoma de la cepa upm791.  todo ello permite concluir que la bacteria presenta un conjunto de adaptaciones espec\u00edficas, en su mayor parte desconocidas hasta este trabajo, a la vida en condiciones microaer\u00f3bicas. Esta cepa, adem\u00e1s, utiliza un sistema respiratorio ramificado con al menos cinco oxidasas terminales que se alteran en funci\u00f3n de los niveles de ox\u00edgeno disponibles, y se interregulan de forma compleja. dos de estas oxidasas, una citocromo c oxidasa de tipo cbb3 y una quinol oxidasa de tipo bd, caracterizada en este trabajo juega un papel importante en el crecimiento microaer\u00f3bico en cultivo pero no en simbiosis. Por el contrario, la oxidasa de tipo cbb3, absolutamente requerida para la simbiosis, no juega un papel importante en c\u00e9lulas vegetativas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
