Esta t\u00e9cnica es obtenida por diferenciaci\u00f3n de espectros ultravioleta y visible permite una medici\u00f3n muy exacta de la longitud de onda de m\u00e1xima absorbancia y una perfecta resoluci\u00f3n de los espectros, suminitrando una informaci\u00f3n de la sustancia analizada mucho m\u00e1s completa que el espectro original, al tiempo que permite eliminar las interferencias en las medidas, causadas por la presencia en el medio de la matriz biol\u00f3gica, de excipientes, disolventes.  dado el gran inter\u00e9s terap\u00e9utico que presentan las benzodiazepinas en la actualidad que adem\u00e1s presetan la problem\u00e1tica de poseer estructuras qu\u00edmicas muy similares (casi todos poseen el mismo n\u00facleo) y adem\u00e1s muchos de ellos comparten rutas biol\u00f3gicas \u00f3 metab\u00f3licas y, en la mayor\u00eda de los casos, se originan tambi\u00e9n metabolitos muy activos y\/o t\u00f3xicos.
