Esta discretizaci\u00f3n se lleva a cabo desarrollando los campos mediante un conjunto formado por funciones otonormales denominadas \u00abwavelets\u00bb. Estas funciones permiten obtener una soluci\u00f3n con el grado de aproximaci\u00f3n que se desee y en la regi\u00f3n del espacio que interese, dando lugar a mallados adaptativos. El trabajo desarrollado en esta tesis incluye una introducci\u00f3n al an\u00e1lisis en multirresoluci\u00f3n fundamentado en las propiedades de las funciones wavelets, as\u00ed como la descripci\u00f3n de los algoritmos conducentes a la implementaci\u00f3n de esta t\u00e9cnica mrtd utilizando funciones wavelets de daubechies en una, dos y tres dimensiones, haciendo menci\u00f3n a la forma de obtener los coeficientes que forman el desarrollo en wavelets de los campos mediante la transformada discreta en wavelets. Tambi\u00e9n se realiza un an\u00e1lisis exhaustivo de las caracter\u00edsticas num\u00e9ricas del algoritmo, incluyendo la estabilidad de los esquemas y sus caracter\u00edsticas de dispersi\u00f3n de una, dos y tres dimensiones.
