Se ha delimitado el campo de actuaci\u00f3n, el arte pl\u00e1stico. La unidad b\u00e1sica de an\u00e1lisis es el art\u00edsta como el elemento productor de la obra de arte, cuya trayectoria en el canal de distribuci\u00f3n, a trav\u00e9s de intermediarias y operadores le permite llegar a los clientes. El objetivo que nos hemos planteado en esta investigaci\u00f3n es delimitar la posici\u00f3n competitiva que logra el artista fen el mercado del arte al distribuir sus creaciones art\u00edsticas.  para el logro de este objetivo se ha establecido el marco conceptual del artista y sus obras de arte introduciendo aspectos tales como marketing estrat\u00e9gico de las artes, marketing operativo de las artes, sistema de distribuci\u00f3n de obras de arte y estrategias de distribuci\u00f3n de obras de arte. Esta revisi\u00f3n te\u00f3rica ha sido realizada bajo las aproximaciones del entorno de porter, las teor\u00edas de recursos y capacidades, de dependencia de recursos y planteamientos cognitivos relativos a las percepciones de los artistas.  en base a la revisi\u00f3n te\u00f3rica, hemos obtenido un modelo te\u00f3rico compuesto por cuatro constructos: artista, obra de arte, estrategias de distribuci\u00f3n y ventajas competitivas. Consideramos que estos constructos tienen validez de contenido. Como instrumento de medida ha sido dise\u00f1ado un cuestionario, que una vez depurado se ha presentado a una muestra de artistas a consecuencia de las cuales se ha obtenido una base de datos.  el an\u00e1lisis de los datos nos ha permitido verificar la fiabilidad del instrumento, as\u00ed como la validez convergente y discriminante, los datos han sido tratados mediante m\u00e9todos de
