Se encuentra que ciertos cationes met\u00e1licos inducen curvatura en los anillos de benceno, a la vez que destruyen sus caracter\u00edsticas arom\u00e1ticas. Los c\u00e1lculos de conductividad en uniones de nanotubos muestran que para reproducir los resultados experimentales no es suficiente con el modelo de red vac\u00eda, sino que hay que considerar la interacci\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica para obtener resultados similares.
