La etapa clave de la ruta consiste en una carbociclaci\u00f3n reductiva carbonilo\/carbonilo o carbonilo\/\u00e9ter de oxima promovida por diyoduro de samario para generar un ciclopentitol o aminociclopentitol respectivamente.  esta ruta sint\u00e9tica, ha permitido adem\u00e1s la preparaci\u00f3n de una variedad de an\u00e1logos modificados estructuralmente, tanto de la trehazolina como de su glic\u00f3n, trehalamina y trehazolamina. Entre los an\u00e1logos preparados cabe destacar el tioderivado 1-tiatrehazolina.  se ha desarrollado tambi\u00e9n la primera s\u00edntesis de las unidades de aminociclopentitol presentes en los hopanoides bacterianos, productos naturales presentes en la membrana de bacterias, empleando d-glucosamina como producto de partida, mediante acoplamiento reductivo carbonilo-carbonilo promovido por diyoduro de samario. Transformaciones sint\u00e9ticas de estos compuestos han permitido preparar la unidad de aminociclopentitol presente en otro inhibidor natural de glicosidasas.  los distintos aminociclopentitoles sintetizados en esta tesis se han ensayado como inhibidores frente a un panel de glicosidasas de diferente origen y especificidad, resultando algunos de ellos inhibidores moderados de algunas enzimas. Tambi\u00e9n se ensay\u00f3 la capacidad inhibitoria de la 1-tiatrehazolina, que result\u00f3 un inhibidor del mismo rango que la trehazolina.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
