El cbr utiliza un soporte pl\u00e1stico rugoso que permite una buena adhesi\u00f3n de los microorganismos en su superficie. La densidad del soporte es ligeramente inferior a la del agua. Este reactor presenta grandes ventajas sobre todo en lo referente a la transferencia de masa y mezcla.  el trabajo se dividi\u00f3 en 5 etapas experimentales en donde se estudi\u00f3 la interacci\u00f3n de la biomasa en suspensi\u00f3n y el biofilm en reactor biol\u00f3gico, la influencia de la materia org\u00e1nica coloidal y en suspensi\u00f3n en la capacidad del sistema y la eficacia del equipo y comparaci\u00f3n de la robustez del sistema cbr h\u00edbrido frente al reactor de biopel\u00edcula cbr. Se utilizaron diversas configuraciones del sistema h\u00edbrido que se compon\u00edan de un sistema cbr de 6 l y en las que se acoplaron o no c\u00e1maras de desnitrificaci\u00f3n de 6 l. Se utilizaron asimismo, sistemas de sedimentaci\u00f3n o m\u00f3dulos de ultrafiltraci\u00f3n para la separaci\u00f3n de la biomasa del agua tratada.  los resultados demuestran que con esta tecnolog\u00eda se pueden tratar aguas residuales, tanto industriales como sint\u00e9ticas a elevadas cargas org\u00e1nicas y nitrogenadas. En dichos sistemas se obtuvieron eliminaciones simult\u00e1neas, referidas al volumen total del equipo, de hasta 0,8 kg n\/m3.D (1,6 kg n\/m3.D cuando se refiere a la c\u00e1mara aerobia) y 5,0 kg
