Cuando un hidrogel homog\u00e9neo con suficiente contenido de agua, pero sin la presencia de agua libre, se enfr\u00eda, las mol\u00e9culas de agua se segregan de la mezcla homog\u00e9nea y cristalizan (y en consecuencia se forma una nueva fase). Sin embargo, una parte del agua no cristaliza y permanece formado parte del hidrogel. Este hecho ha llevado a interpretaciones que divergen. Uno de los objetivos de este trabajo es la contribuci\u00f3n a la clarificaci\u00f3n del origen del agua no cristalizable en un sistema pol\u00edmero-agua mediante comparaci\u00f3n con las transiciones t\u00e9rmicas que tienen lugar en una red polim\u00e9rica de car\u00e1cter hidr\u00f3fobo hinchada en un disolvente no polar.  como los hidrogeles presentan propiedades mec\u00e1nicas pobres se necesitan reforzarlos, normalmente combin\u00e1ndolo con un componente hidr\u00f3fobo. Las transiciones t\u00e9rmicas del agua en estas estructuras heterog\u00e9neas tambi\u00e9n se han investigado. Estos objetivos se han llevado a cabo mediante la comparaci\u00f3n entre sistemas en los que, debido a la naturaleza qu\u00edmica del disolvente y el pol\u00edmero, interacciones espec\u00edficas pueden ocurrir y sistemas en las que estas interacciones no son posibles.
