Luisa P\u00e9rez Ca\u00f1ado <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Introducci\u00f3n  tanto en el aprendizaje de la l1 como en el de la l2, los paradigmas expl\u00edcito e impl\u00edcito han suscitado el inter\u00e9s de numerosos investigadores, sobre todo a partir de mediados de los a\u00f1os 60. Seg\u00fan stern (1992), la ense\u00f1anza expl\u00edcita asume que el aprendizaje es un proceso cognitivo que lleva a un conocimiento expl\u00edcito de la lengua. Implica centrarse en caracter\u00edsticas claves de la lengua, realizar un esfuerzo para adquirir un conocimiento consciente de la misma e intentar averiguar c\u00f3mo funciona la lengua.  a su vez, el aprendizaje impl\u00edcito (stern 1992) supone un acercamiento a la lengua m\u00e1s global e intuitivo y no basado en un proceso de reflexi\u00f3n consciente y resoluci\u00f3n de problemas. Se fundamenta en que las lenguas son demasiado complejas para ser descritas; en que ser\u00eda imposible aprender todas las reglas ling\u00ed\u00bc\u00edsticas conscientemente; y en que las lenguas se adquieren a un nivel psicol\u00f3gico m\u00e1s profundo si se hace sin reflexionar y en contextos aut\u00e9nticos (krashen 1982).  de todas las \u00e1reas de aprendizaje inmersas en esta controversia entre lo expl\u00edcito y lo impl\u00edcito, la ortograf\u00eda inglesa es una de las m\u00e1s &#8211; si no la m\u00e1s &#8211; representativas y problem\u00e1ticas. Innumerables autores aluden al prolongado debate que se ha originado entre el punto de vista tradicional y el hol\u00edstico: hildreth (1962), tarasoff (1990), wilde (1992), gentry and gillet (1993), reason and boote (1994), koda (1997), allal (1997), rosencrans (1998), templeton and morris (1999), strickland (1998, 1999), moustafa and maldonado-colon (1999) o dahl et al.
