Se ha descrito que pten, al desfosforilar a la quinasa de adhesiones focales y a la prote\u00edna adaptadora shc, puede regular la migraci\u00f3n y adhesi\u00f3n celulares (revisado en tamura et al., 1999). Asimismo, pten puede actuar como una fosfatasa de l\u00edpidos al desfosforilar el segundo mensajero lip\u00eddico: fosfatidil inositol (3,4,5) trifosfato pten, al actuar como una fosfatasa de l\u00edpidos, regula una gran variedad de procesos celulares modulados por la ruta de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n celular de los proto-oncogenes: fosf\u00e1til inositol 3-quinasa y prote\u00edna quinasa b (revisado en maechama et al., 2001; waite &amp; eng, 2002).  en esta tesis doctoral se ha abordado el estudio de posibles mecanismos reguladores de la funci\u00f3n de pten, como la fosforilaci\u00f3n y la prote\u00f3lisis mediada por caspasas. Las conclusiones obtenidas de este trabajo de tesis doctoral son:  1,- pten es fosforilada y por la prote\u00edna quinasa ck2 in vitro y, posiblemente, in vivo. Los fosforilados son: ser370, ser385 y, en menor grado thr385 y\/o thr383.  2,- pten es un sustrato de caspasa-3 in vitro y, posiblemente, in vivo. los sitios de corte de caspasa-3 son: asp301, asp371, asp375 y asp384.  3,- la  fosforilaci\u00f3n de pten por ck2 estabiliza a la prote\u00edna frente a la degradaci\u00f3n por el proteasoma, y dificulta su prote\u00f3lisis por la caspasa-3 en los residuos asp371, asp375 y asp384.  4,- el cote de pten por la caspasa-3 puede inhibir su asociaci\u00f3n con la prote\u00edna de andamiaje s-scam.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos
