Efectivamente, su formaci\u00f3n novel\u00edstica se empez\u00f3 a establecer partiendo de los contactos con los escritores de su generaci\u00f3n, influenciada enormemente por la cultura europea, en especial, por la cultura italiana que viv\u00eda un momento de auge con el neorrealismo cinematogr\u00e1fico y literario. Es por ello que he estudiado de forma breve una serie de alusiones a la situaci\u00f3n de italia, seguida de la de espa\u00f1a para dar la comprensi\u00f3n para analizar las obras de fern\u00e1ndez santos escritas en los a\u00f1os comprendidos entre 1954-1964.  en dicho per\u00edodo, podemos observar las influencias culturales italianas que eran consistentes para los novelistas espa\u00f1oles en los a\u00f1os cincuenta, bien por v\u00eda literaria, bien por v\u00eda cinematogr\u00e1fica. Junto con las nuevas aportaciones de t\u00e9cnicas literarias, fern\u00e1ndez santos nos presenta las narraciones que van a convertir en las obras muy importantes en la novela espa\u00f1ola contempor\u00e1nea.  en resumen, las novelas y los cuentos de fern\u00e1ndez santos, delimitados entre los a\u00f1os 1954-1964, apuntan, tem\u00e1ticamente a demostrar los problemas de la sociedad poco tratados por escritos anteriores a \u00e9l y, t\u00e9cnicamente, intentan innovar con t\u00e9cnicas narrativas tomadas por escritores posteriores a \u00e9l. Para finalizar, quisiera recalcar de nuevo que la figura de este novelista, integrante de la generaci\u00f3n de medio siglo, deber\u00eda ser ampliamente valorada por la historia de la literatura espa\u00f1ola contempor\u00e1nea de posguerra, pues hasta ahora jes\u00fas fern\u00e1ndez santos ha quedado un ensombrecido por la atenci\u00f3n cr\u00edtica dispensada a novelistas coet\u00e1neos con
