La presente tesis nos muestra la existencia de una modulaci\u00f3n de la actividad topo i y ii como consecuencia del da\u00f1o en el adn producido por rayos x. Las variaciones de las actividades topoisomerasas no se corresponden con variaciones de la cantidad de la enzima, sino que se debe a modificaciones postraduccionales y a una focalizaci\u00f3n de la enzima presente.  nuestros resultados muestran que la bisdioxopiperaxina icrf-193 no es un inhibidor catal\u00edtico limpio de la topo ii como se describi\u00f3 en un principio, sino que es capaz de provocar da\u00f1o en el adn, muerte celular y endorreduplicaci\u00f3n cromos\u00f3mica. Por otro lado, el bufalin a\u00fan no siendo un inhibidor catal\u00edtico como tal, provoca la inhibici\u00f3n de la enzima sin inducir da\u00f1o en el adn.  nuestros resultados muestran que la presencia del inhibidor bufalin interfiere en la reparaci\u00f3n del da\u00f1o en el adn provocado por rayos x. Su inhibici\u00f3n prolonga el tiempo necesario para reparar dicho da\u00f1o.  de todo ello se deduce que las topoisomerasas, o al menos la topo ii, parecen jugar sin lugar a dudas un papel, ya sea directo o indirecto, en los procesos celulares de reparaci\u00f3n el da\u00f1o en el adn provocado por radicaci\u00f3n ionizante.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
