Asi, el mecanismo molecular por el que la hormona alfamsh activa la actividad tirosinasa y por tanto la melanogenesis de melanocitos malignos b16\/f10 de raton, es a traves de la induccion preferencial de proteina c, que presenta mayor eficacia catalitica que la isoenzima de tirosinasa existente en condiciones basales (proteina b). Del mismo modo, en esta memoria se aporta la primera demostracion clara de un efecto antagonico directo y sistematico de la hormona melatonina, frente a alfamsh en melanocitos de mamifero; en parte por determinar una disminucion del numero de receptores para alfamsh, pero en mayor medida por interferir en los mecanismos intracelulares mediados por ampc, responsables.  mayoritarios de la accion melanogenica de alfamsh. Ademas de melatonina, las citoquinas epidermicas il1, il6, tnf y tgf31 son capaces de exhibir un efecto hipopigmentante a traves de la modulacion en la sintesis de un inhibidor proteico de tirosinasa de accion no competitiva. Tal accion hipopigmentante parece establecerse a traves del segundo mensajero calcio, via calmodulina. Asi mismo, la activacion de la via de calmodulina y de pk c determina un efecto inhibidor sinergico sobre la actividad tirosinasa, posiblemente por mediar la quinasa la fosforilacion del inhibidor
