Isabel <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En este trabajo se han sintetizado y caracterizado cinco vidrios en forma de bulk en el sistema sio2-cao en un intervalo de composici\u00f3n de 50 a 90% en moles de sio2 por el m\u00e9todo sol-gel.  los estudios de bioactividad de dichos vidrios muestran que todos ellos son bioactivos en sbf, formando sobre su superficie una capa de hidroxicarbonato apatita equivalente al componente mineral del hueso. De esta manera, se ha ampliado el intervalo de composiciones bioactivas del sistema binario, desde el dato bibliogr\u00e1fico de 65% en moles de sio2 hasta un 90%. Estos resultados muestran que la presencia de f\u00f3sforo no es necesaria para obtener un comportamiento bioactivo. Sin embargo, el f\u00f3sforo favorece la formaci\u00f3n de nanocristales hidroxicabonato apatita de mayor tama\u00f1o.  los estudios de biocompatibilidad de los vidrios binarios se han realizado en presencia de c\u00e9lulas osteobl\u00e1sticas: mg-63 y hos. Los resultados indican que dichos vidrios presentan una buena adhesi\u00f3n celular. Los diferentes tama\u00f1os de part\u00edcula de un vidrio binario de composici\u00f3n 80% de sio2 y 20% de cao influyen en los procesos de proliferaci\u00f3n y diferenciaci\u00f3n celular, siendo mayor a medida que disminuye el tama\u00f1o de part\u00edcula.  se han sintetizado y caracterizado recubrimientos v\u00edtreos en el sistema binario sobre sustratos de aleaciones de titanio (ti6al4v) y acero inoxidable (316 l). Las reacciones qu\u00edmicas que transcurren durante la formaci\u00f3n del recubrimiento no afectan a la aleaci\u00f3n de ti6al4v.
