Por este motivo es importante disponer de tratamientos alternativos que cumplen con las normativas vigentes de m\u00ednimo o ausente impacto ambiental. En este contexto, se inici\u00f3 el desarrollo de un tratamiento no contaminante bas\u00e1ndose en el uso del biopol\u00edmero quitosano, sobre sustratos que previamente hab\u00edan sido tratados con per\u00f3xido de hidr\u00f3geno con el fin de incrementar la resistencia al encogimiento otorgada con el biopol\u00edmero. A pesar de las investigaciones realizadas antes de inicarse la presente tesis, muchos aspectos cient\u00edficos y tecnol\u00f3gicos del proceso per\u00f3xido de hidr\u00f3geno\/quitosano requer\u00edan ser estudiados tanto para aportar nuevos conocimientos y poder interpretar los resultados como para su posterior transferencia a la industria.
