La rotura de estas placas se produce cuando la tension local asociada a una microfisura alcanza un valor suficiente para provocar su crecimiento.  en este trabajo se propone el dimensionamiento de las placas de acristalamiento mediante un calculo probabilistico en rotura, de manera que el criterio de dise\u00f1o sera un determinado valor de la probabilidad de rotura. Para ello se adopta el algoritmo de galerkin para resolver las ecuaciones de von karman, se recurre a la teoria de valores extremos para estimar las funciones de distribucion de tama\u00f1os maximos de microfisuras, y se emplean parametros de mecanica de la fractura para definir el tama\u00f1o critico de fisura.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
