El modelo comprende tanto el fen\u00f3meno del chorro libre (inyectado en ambiente en reposo) como la interacci\u00f3n del chorro con una corriente de aire que incide perpendicularmente sobre \u00e9l, contemplando tanto el caso en elque el aire posee una velocidad uniforme, como el caso en el que \u00e9ste posee un perfil de volocidades triangular similar al movimiento de torbellino (swirl) que tiene lugar en el interior de un motor diesel d.I.R\u00e1pido. El estudio se fundamenta en la similitud existente entre un chorro diesel y un chorro gaseoso, que ha sido corroborada tras el an\u00e1lisis en detalle de los distintos datos experimentales (chorro diesel) y de los modelados efectuados con un c\u00f3digo cfd (chorro gaseoso). Los aspectos estudiados comprenden, principalmente, el campo de velocidades y de concentraciones, la penetraci\u00f3n del frente del chorro, la deflexi\u00f3n del eje, la distribuci\u00f3n de la masa y la masa mezclada. Fruto de este estudio, se establece una normalizaci\u00f3n para los diferentes par\u00e1metros relevantes del fen\u00f3meno, y se deduce el valor del n\u00famero de schmidt en el chorro
