Mar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Los acidos teicoicos (at) podrian estar implicados en el mecanismo de crecimiento. Los at comienzan a sintetizarse, durante el proceso de germinacion de las esporas de streptomyces antibioticus atcc11891, al mismo tiempo que el peptidoglicano. Durante el crecimiento de las hifas la cinetica de sintesis de ambos polimeros es la misma. Sin embargo, mientras que peptidoglicano se incorpora en la pared preferentemente en la region apical de las hifas, los at parecen incorporarse en la region subapical. En las colonias de s. Antibioticus el micelio sustrato se encuentra inmerso en material extracelular.  este material adquiere un aspecto membranoso en la superficie en contacto con el aire. Algunas hifas del micelio sustrato son capaces orientarse perpendicularmente al medio de cultivo. Estas hifas atraviesan la cubierta membranosa creciendo por encima de ella y dando lugar al micelio aereo. Las hifas aereas mas proximas al sustrato presentan caracteristicas muy similares a el. Sin embargo, las hifas situadas en la region superior de la colonia presentan paredes celulares mas estrechas y diametros mayores.
