Material y metodos: registro de frecuencia cardiaca in situ a 73 mineros de arranque manual y 35 en a. Mecanizado.  determinacion del consumo de oxigeno maximo en cada uno mediante test de esfuerzo maximo. A partir de los datos del test y obteniendo una regresion entre vo2 y fc se obtiene con los datos de fc en la mina, el consumo de oxigeno en la jornada laboral.  resultados y conclusiones: gran variabilidad interindividual en la fc y vo2 a lo largo de la jornada laboral. Existen momentos en la misma en los cuales la fc es muy alta. Ello supone un riesgo para los sujetos con factores de riesgo (82y de fumadores, 23 de hipercolesterolemia) por lo que es conveniente hacer un test de esfuerzo periodico. El grupo de a. Mecanizado mantiene un valor medio de fc en la jornada laboral de un 63.9% respecto de la maxima, frente a un 58.1% del a. Manual. El vo2 en la jornada laboral es de un 41% del vo2 max en a. Mecanizado frente a un 34.9% de a. Manual.
