A las 18hs., De inducida la sepsis se extrajo el ciego y se lav\u00f3 la cavidad peritoneal. Seg\u00fan el grupo asignado se ventil\u00f3 a los animales con alto volumen tidal (20 ml\/kg) o con bajo volumen (8 ml\/kg), con o sin peep (8 cm de agua), o se los mantuvo con respiraci\u00f3n espont\u00e1nea durante 3 horas (grupos control). Se evalu\u00f3 la mortalidad, la afectaci\u00f3n inflamatoria de distintos par\u00e1metros (edema, infiltrado inflamatorio, desorganizaci\u00f3n del par\u00e9nquima, roturas alveolares y hemorragia) y el a\u00f1o global de la afectaci\u00f3n inflamatoria (entre 0 y 20 con la sumatoria de estos), y la expresi\u00f3n de tnf-alfa en el pulm\u00f3n mediante densitometr\u00eda relativa.  el an\u00e1lisis estad\u00edstico se realiz\u00f3 empleando pruebas no param\u00e9tricas.  conclusiones  la inducci\u00f3n de sepsis produce lpa. La eliminaci\u00f3n del foco s\u00e9ptico no es suficiente para mejorar el cuadro de insuficiencia respiratoria sino que los animales deben ser ventilados.  la vm durante 3 horas produce lpa en animales sanos, sobre todo en los animales ventilados con alto volumen.  en animales s\u00e9pticos la vm con bajo volumen y peep dismunuye la mortalidad, y en los ventilado con alto volumen y peep aumetna.  la producci\u00f3n de tnf disminuye con bajo volumen y peep y aumenta con alto volumen tidal.  la vm con bajo volumen sin peep produce bajo grado de inflamaci\u00f3n pero mortalidad alta (25%) y valores de tnf muy altos (0.99).  el uso de alto volumen y peep produce el mayor grado de afectaci\u00f3n inflamatoria global y en todos los par\u00e1metros estudiados, mientras que la aplicaci\u00f3n de bajo volumen y peep produce el menor \u00edndice de afectaci\u00f3n inflamatoria y la mayor disminuci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n local de tnf.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
