Mediante este procedimiento se ha estudiado la organizacion genonica y localizacion cromosomica de la familia genica de los rnas ribosomales y principales. De los genes ribosomales del 5s y de la familia genica de las histonas en las tres especies de salmonidos estudiadas: salmon atlantico, trucha comun y trucha arco iris. En base a estas localizaciones cromosomicas, se plantean los distintos mecanismos de reordenaciones cromosomicas que tuvieron lugar en el proceso de diploidizacion en el que se encuentran estas
