Estas exigencias se centran no s\u00f3lo en conseguir materiales con excelentes propiedades mec\u00e1nicas, sino que tambi\u00e9n se pretende que dichas propiedades mec\u00e1nicas se mantengan incluso a altas temperaturas. los nuevos catalizadores metalocenos y las nuevas tecnolog\u00edas de reticulaci\u00f3n o entrecruzamiento aumentan las propiedades y los l\u00edmites de aplicaci\u00f3n de las poliolefinas m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los que se han conseguido tradicionalmente, y as\u00ed las poliolefinas metaloc\u00e9nicas, compiten con otros pol\u00edmeros \u00abcommodities\u00bb como termopl\u00e1sticos, elast\u00f3meros y resinas ingenieriles. Se han entrecruzado dos tipos de elast\u00f3meros termopl\u00e1sticos poliolef\u00ednicos metaloc\u00e9nicos (terpol\u00edmeros epdm y copol\u00edmeros de etileno-1-octeno) mediante un m\u00e9todo qu\u00edmico; per\u00f3xidos org\u00e1nicos; y mediante un m\u00e9todo f\u00edsico como es la radiaci\u00f3n de electrones de alta energ\u00eda. Se han comparado la metodolog\u00eda y las prpiedades de estos materiales utilizando un m\u00e9todo de entrecruzamiento del que existe un gran conocimiento como son los per\u00f3xidos org\u00e1nicos,
