En la primera se detallan las bases de dise\u00f1o y el estado del arte de la investigaci\u00f3n sobre este tipo de sistemas. en la segunda, se estudia el comportamiento de un conjunto representativo de cargas paralelas respecto a tres ejes de caracterizaci\u00f3n estrechamente relacionados con las prestaciones en estos sistemas. Mientras que la primera parte apunta la hip\u00f3tesis de que la comunicaci\u00f3n as\u00edncrona es una de las principales causas de p\u00e9rdida de prestaciones en los sistemas de memoria virtual compartida, la segunda no s\u00f3lo la confirma, sino que ofrece un detallado an\u00e1lisis de las cargas del que se obtiene informaci\u00f3n sobre la potencial comunicaci\u00f3n as\u00edncrona atendiendo a diferentes par\u00e1metros del sistema.  el resultado de la evaluaci\u00f3n se utiliza para proponer dos nuevos protocolos para el funcionamiento de estos sistemas que utiliza un m\u00ednimo de recursos hardware, alcanzando prestaciones similares e incluso superiores en algunos casos a sistemas que utilizan circuitos hardware de prop\u00f3sito espec\u00edficos para reducir la comunicaci\u00f3n as\u00edncrona. En particular, uno de los protocolos propuestos es comparado con una reconocida t\u00e9cnica hardware para reducir la comunicaci\u00f3n as\u00edncrona, obteniendo resultados satisfactorios y complementarios a la t\u00e9cnica comparada.
