Se centra en demostrar la autenticidad del desarrollo religioso que \u00e9ste experiment\u00f3. Inicialmente vinculado al calvinismo, newman continu\u00f3 su andadura por el anglicanismo hasta terminar en el catolicismo romano. En este trabajo se ahonda extensamente en la credibilidad y relevancia de ese camino emprendido por la fe. Se analizan, as\u00ed mismo, las alegr\u00edas y las penas, los momentos de fuerza y los de debilidad de su \u00e9xodo espiritual en el contexto de la inglaterra victoriana. La abundante correspondencia del cardenal as\u00ed como otras de sus publicaciones han sido las fuentes sobre las que se asienta este trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n.  un punto de partida clave habr\u00eda que buscarlo en la advertencia que nuestro se\u00f1or lanza a sus disc\u00edpulos para probar y discernir entre los aut\u00e9nticos profetas y los falsos: \u00abpor sus frutos los conocer\u00e9is\u00bb (mt 7: 15-20). Esta frase podr\u00eda aplicarse perfectamente a la figura de newman. A pesar de que la apolog\u00eda pro vita sua y an essay on the development of christian doctrine del cardenal se elevan a grandes consideraciones e imponen un gran respeto, ambas obras parece que plantean cuestiones vitales en relaci\u00f3n con la autenticidad de su conversi\u00f3n final al catolicismo romano. La tesis considera las aparentes contradicciones y emplea su pensamiento (las siete pruebas\/notas) como criterios no solo relevantes sino tambi\u00e9n de autoridad para evaluar su propio camino de fe desde una perspectiva doctrinal, moral y afectiva.  en el an\u00e1lisis final se constata que newman habr\u00eda dejado el anglicanismo sin unirse a la iglesia de roma. La comuni\u00f3n anglicana hab\u00eda perdido la fe de los padres de la iglesia y newman, en conciencia, no pod\u00eda  permanecer en la misma siendo un buen hijo.
