En el capitulo 1 se tratan las acilaciones regioselectivas de aldo y cetohexosas, asi como las de aldopentosas, utilizando esteres de oxima como agentes de acilacion y lipasas como catalizadores. Por primera vez, a traves de este metodo se ha conseguido la acilacion enzimatica regioselectiva de pentosas libres. Los resultados forman parte de las publicaciones \u00abj. Chem.Soc., Perkin trans.  1,1991 491\u00bb y \u00abj. Chem. Soc., Perkin trans 1, 1992, 2891.  en el capitulo 2 se estudian las alcoxicarbonilaciones regioselectivas de monosacaridos catalizadas por enzimas. Los procedimientos descritos permiten la introduccion regioselectiva de diferentes restos alcoxicarbonilo en condiciones suaves. Parte de los resultados expuesto han sido publicados en \u00abj.
