La fisiopatolog\u00eda de este proceso permanece oscura, habi\u00e9ndose implicado en la misma a varios agentes. El estudio de un mecanismo com\u00fan de la p.E., Implicaria la existencia de un mit\u00f3geno de los fibroblastos de acci\u00f3n local.  el cotranportador na+\/h+, ha sido estudiado como mecanismo mitog\u00e9nico sobre todo en c\u00e9lulas tumorales, pero tambi\u00e9n en c\u00e9lulas normales como el musculo&#8211; vascular en relaci\u00f3n con el crecimiento vascular en la hipertensi\u00f3n.  el objetivo de estudio es comprobar que los distintos agentes implicados en la etiolog\u00eda de la esclerosis peritonial producen modificaciones en el ph intracelular por activaci\u00f3n del intercambiador na+\/h lo que producir\u00eda una proliferaci\u00f3n de fibroblastos peritoneales.  el m\u00e9todo empleado ha sido la determinaci\u00f3n del ph intracelular por fluorimetria con sondas intracelulares (bcecf-am).  los resultados obtenidos muestran que todos los agentes epidemiol\u00f3gicamente implicados en la etiolog\u00eda de la esclerosis pentoneal que hemos analizado en este estudio, producen sobre los fibroblastos peritoneales en cultivo, modificaciones significativas en los valores del ph intracelular.  en todas estas variaciones de ph intracelular se demuestra una participaci\u00f3n del intercambiador na\/h, puesta de manifestaci\u00f3n los resultados obtenidos en los experimentos realizados con soluciones de perfusi\u00f3n carentes de sodio extracelular y en
