Se describen los principios fundamentales de la oi y se hace una recision de los modelos de transporte existentes para esta operacion, asi como de sus limitaciones, relacionadas con la polarizacion de concentracion y con el ensuciamiento de la membrana.  en la parte experimental, se hace una descripcion del equipo utilizado y, para cada membrana, se lleva a cabo una modelizacion del proceso en funcion de las condiciones de operacion (temperatura, presion y flujo de alimentacion).
