Las neuregulinas son factores de crecimiento sintetizado mayoritariamente como formas transmembrana; la actuaci\u00f3n de proteasas espec\u00edficas en su ectodominio provoca la liberaci\u00f3n del factor maduro soluble, que activar\u00e1 receptores localizados en la superficie de las c\u00e9lulas diana. Esta comunicaci\u00f3n es crucial para el desarrollo del coraz\u00f3n, el sistema nervioso y la gl\u00e1ndula mamaria.  alteraciones en la comunicaci\u00f3n mediada por estas mol\u00e9culas puede provocar procesos tumorales, como la sobreexpresi\u00f3n del receptor erbb2 o la producci\u00f3n de neuregulinas por c\u00e9lulas de mama, que se han observado en tumores de mama.  por todo ello, en este trabajo se plantearon como objetivos analizar los determinantes estructurales, los mecanismos moleculares y las actividades prote\u00e1sicas que inducen el procesamiento de neuregulinas ancladas a membrana, y comparar la capacidad mitog\u00e9nicas asociada a la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de erbb2 o a la producci\u00f3n de neuregulinas en c\u00e9lulas de carcinoma de mama, analizando rutas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n activadas en ambos casos.  los resultados obtenidos nos llevan a las siguientes conclusiones:  el procesamiento de neuregulinas transmembrana tiene lugar en el dominio nexo extracelular y, probablemente en la regi\u00f3n transmembrana; la longitud del dominio nexo dicta la velocidad de procesamiento de estas mol\u00e9culas, que es inducido por activadores de la pkc; la metaloproteasa tace interviene en el procesamiento de neuregulinas transmembrana. Tambi\u00e9n constatamos que la producci\u00f3n y\/o presencia de neuregulina modifica profundamente la se\u00f1alizacion en c\u00e9lulas mcf7, derivadas de carcinoma de mama, aumentando los niveles
