L-a y ml son las responsables del sistema \u00abkiller\u00bb de s. Cerevisiae y se encuentran encapsidadas, por separado, en un mismo tipo de particulas proteicas de 39 mm de diametro. L-bc tambien esta encapsidado, pero en particulas proteicas; no presentan homolog\u00eda entre si en cuanto a secuencia nucleotidica, ni tampoco con los otros dsrnas de la levadura. Tambien en s. Cerevisiae se han detectado rnas monocatenarios (ssrna), cuyo numero de copias se incrementa por crecimiento en kac al 1%. Estos ssrnas se denominan 23s rna y 20s rna (debido a su coeficiente de sedimentacion) y se corresponden con las cadenas con polaridad (+) de t y w respectivamente. Estas moleculas codifican rna polimerasas dependientes de rna, y constituyen una nueva familia de rna polimerasas viricas, relativamente proximas a las subunidades beta de los colifagos rna. Hemos comprobado que 23s rna es un elemento genetico citoplasmatico (presenta herencia no mendeliana) y no se encuentra encapsidado, aunque si esta asociado a la rna polimerasa que codifica (t pol), formando un complejo capaz de coinmunoprecipitar. La capacidad de union reside en el tercio c-terminal de la proteina. Ademas esta proteina (t pol) apenas muestra afinidad por dsrna, por lo que probablemente la molecula monocatenaria (23s rna) sea la forma genomica y la bicatenaria (t) sea unicamente un producto
