La variabilidad inter- e intraespec\u00edfica se encuentra oculta por la actual clasificaci\u00f3n racial, y no se tiene en cuenta en el desarrollo de planes de control. Dicho control es importante en la b\u00fasqueda de cultivares de plantas resistentes porque poblaciones no detectadas pueden adaptarse al genotipo hu\u00e9sped, y dar lugar, como ha sucedido en ocasiones anteriores, a la p\u00e9rdida de la eficacia de los cultivares.  este trabajo tiene como objetivo principal la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la diversidad gen\u00e9tica de poblaciones de estos nematodos en las principales zonas de distribuci\u00f3n del g\u00e9nero en espa\u00f1a (zona tabaquera de cultivo exterior del valle del ti\u00e9tar en extremadura, zona de cultivos exteriores y de invernaderos en el maresme en catalu\u00f1a y zona de cultivos en invernaderos de almer\u00eda y alrededores en andaluc\u00eda), mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de los principios y los m\u00e9todos de la gen\u00e9tica de poblaciones y la evoluci\u00f3n molecular. Dicha informaci\u00f3n es ordenada epidemiol\u00f3gicamente seg\u00fan criterios ecol\u00f3gicos, geogr\u00e1ficos y agron\u00f3micos.
