La disponibilidad de datos experimentales permite testear los c\u00e1lculos te\u00f3ricos perturbativos y aprender sobre el impacto de los procesos no perturbativos. la disponibilidad de estimaciones teoricas permite determinar el potencial de un programa experimental y permite optimizar el dise\u00f1o del experimento.  tanto las medidas experimentales como las estimaciones teoricas para la seccion eficaz de producci\u00f3n de parejas de quarks b en colisiones proton-nucleon tienen aun (2003) grandes incertidumbres.  los datos tomados en hera-b durante el a\u00f1\u00f3 2000 han sido analizados obteniendo que la secci\u00f3n eficaz de producci\u00f3n de parejas de quarks b en hera-b es menor que 42(4) nb\/nucleon a un nivel de confianza del 90%.  debido a importantes limitaciones en la comprensi\u00f3n del detector, la determinaci\u00f3n de eficacias absolutas es muy imprecisa. Para salvar este obst\u00e1culo, la medida ha sido determinar la secci\u00f3n eficaz de producci\u00f3n de parejas que quarks b relativa a la secci\u00f3n eficaz de producci\u00f3n de mesones j. Est\u00e1 secci\u00f3n eficaz de mensones j ha sido tomada de referencias externas y la secci\u00f3n eficaz para quarks b ha sido hecha en el canal de desintegraci\u00f3n inclusivo que involucra una j. La detecci\u00f3n de los mesones j se ha realizado en el canal de desintegraci\u00f3n doblemente leptonico, tanto en el canal electr\u00f3nico como en el muonico. La separaci\u00f3n entre los mesones j de producci\u00f3n directa de los producidos en las desintegraciones de hadrones con contenido \u00abbello\u00bb se basa en la diferente topolog\u00eda que estas desintegraciones muestran en hera-b.  el resultado obtenido es compatible con las predicciones teoricas y con los otros resultados experimentales publicados por las colaboraciones e771 y
