La interconexi\u00f3n entre estos proceos es especialmente cr\u00edtica en el sistema nervioso, debido a la baja tasa de regeneraci\u00f3n neuronal y a la agresi\u00f3n oxidativa que es caracter\u00edstica de su propio metabolismo aerobio y de la neurotoxinas mejor conocidas.  la cascada de quinasas representada por la fosfatidilinositol 3 quinasa (pi3k) y akt\/pkb est\u00e1 implicada en promoci\u00f3n de supervivencia neuronal bajo diversas condiciones de estr\u00e9s. Sin embargo, su posible papel protector frente a agentes oxidantes relacionados con neurodegeneraci\u00f3n no ha sido evaluado. En este estudio, hemos analizado los mecanismos que regulan la v\u00eda de supervivencia pi3k\/akt durante la muerte celular inducida por estr\u00e9s oxidativo utilizando un inductor gen\u00e9rico de neurodegeneraci\u00f3n, el per\u00f3xido de hidr\u00f3geno, y otro relacionado con la enfermedad de alzheimer, el p\u00e9ptido amiloidog\u00e9nico abeta(25-35).  el h2o2 y el p\u00e9ptido abeta(25-35) produjeron una activaci\u00f3n temprana de akt\/pkb pero tambi\u00e9n, en el caso del h2o2, da\u00f1o genot\u00f3xico seguido de estabilizaci\u00f3n de p53, formaci\u00f3n de especies reactivas de ox\u00edgeno (ros) y acumulaci\u00f3n de ceramida por medio de una esfingomielinasa neutra sensible a ros.  estos acontecimientos correlacionaron con la inactivaci\u00f3n por defosforilaci\u00f3n y posterior degradaci\u00f3n proteol\u00edtica de akt. La degradaci\u00f3n se pudo prevenir mediante la adici\u00f3n ex\u00f3gena de gsh, indicando que ros y ceramida intervienen en la inactivaci\u00f3n de este enzima por defosforilaci\u00f3n. Por otra parte, la cin\u00e9tica de degradaci\u00f3n de akt fue similar en c\u00e9lulas transfectadas con p53 silvestre y con un mutante dominante negativo, sugiriendo que es el estr\u00e9s oxidativo
