Se produce la transformaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda mec\u00e1nica en el\u00e9ctrica. en las m\u00e1quinas de dos devanados, uno de ellos act\u00faa como devanado de excitaci\u00f3n, alimentado con corriente continua. En el caso de un \u00fanico devanado, se produce la autoexcitaci\u00f3n cuando en los terminales de salida se conectan condensadores de la capacidad adecuada. En ambos casos existe una relaci\u00f3n de sincronismo entre la velocidad de giro del rotor y la frecuencia de la tensi\u00f3n de salida.  la optimizaci\u00f3n en el dise\u00f1o se establece considerado la influencia de los par\u00e1metros el\u00e9ctricos, magn\u00e9ticos y geom\u00e9tricos en las caracter\u00edsticas de la forma de onda de la tensi\u00f3n de salida. En la m\u00e1quina de dos devanados, la autoinducci\u00f3n de corriente alternante en el devanado de campo tiene un efecto desmagnetizante perjudicial que debe disminuir al m\u00e1ximo. Se comprueba experimentalmente este efecto y se indican las soluciones para magnetizarlo.  se indican los requisitos necesarios para la transformaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda en una m\u00e1quina el\u00e9ctrica, lo que conduce a definir las formas constructivas b\u00e1sicas de la m\u00e1quina, que permiten, mediante el c\u00e1lculo de las permeancias equivalentes de las trayectorias del flujo magn\u00e9tico, obtener los par\u00e1metros caracter\u00edsticos, para predecir el comportamiento estacionario, en circuito abierto y en carga, y elaborar unas gu\u00edas b\u00e1sicas de dise\u00f1o.  la simplificaci\u00f3n de las ecuaciones generales de las m\u00e1quinas s\u00edncronas de polos salientes, basada en las transformaci\u00f3n de park y en la teor\u00eda de las dos reacciones de blondel, conduce a la obtenci\u00f3n de la ecuaci\u00f3n vectorial del inducido aplicable a la m\u00e1quina con uno o dos devanados en el estator.
