El pron\u00f3stico, a diferencia del diagn\u00f3stico, est\u00e1 basado en la informaci\u00f3n que aporta la evoluci\u00f3n temporal de los deterioros y permite planificar la operaci\u00f3n integrando el proceso de reparaci\u00f3n.  en su aplicaci\u00f3n este modelo distingue los siguientes grupos de deterioro: p\u00e9rdida de rendimiento, p\u00e9rdida de estabilidad din\u00e1mica del equipo y fracturas.  los obst\u00e1culos m\u00e1s importantes que ha sido necesarios superar son: la superposici\u00f3n cromol\u00f3gica de efectos del deterioro, la fijaci\u00f3n de criterios para interpretar la informaci\u00f3n disponible y la dificultad de manejo del modelo por parte del responsable de mantenimiento.  en cu\u00e1nto a las aportaciones metodol\u00f3gicas, esta memoria contiene una catalogaci\u00f3n de los deterioros m\u00e1s comunes, t\u00e9cnicas de an\u00e1lisis y los procesos de reparaci\u00f3n en turbinas de vapor.  y en cuanto  a aportaciones t\u00e9cnicas, cabe destacar la utilizaci\u00f3n de diferentes herramientas matem\u00e1ticas y su correspondiente implementaci\u00f3n inform\u00e1tica, necesarias para hacer funcionar los modelos propuestos.
