En phormidium laminosum el transporte de estos aniones al interior celular est\u00e1 mediado por un sistema multicomponente denominado transportador abc de nitrato\/nitrito, codificado por el oper\u00f3n de genes nrt. En este trabajo, se ha estudiado separadamente cada uno de los componentes proteicos que conforman esta permeasa peripl\u00e1smica, prestando especial atenci\u00f3n en la caracterizaci\u00f3n bioqu\u00edmica de las subunidades nrta y nrtc. Los datos experimentales demuestran que nrta es la subunidad del transportador que une nitrato y nitrito en el espacio peripl\u00e1smico.  nrta es un mon\u00f3mero perif\u00e9rico de membrana de 45 kda capaz de unir ambos aniones con alta afinidad. Por su parte, nrtb es la subunidad encargada de la translocaci\u00f3n del nitrato y el nitrito al interior celular. Se ha demostrado que nrtc es la subunidad citopl\u00e1smica del transportador nrt que une y posiblemente cataliza la hidr\u00f3lisis de atp, y que es el dominio n-terminal de la prote\u00edna el que est\u00e1 directamente involucrado en la uni\u00f3n de atp. La unidad funcional de nrtc, es un d\u00edmero, siendo dependiente la uni\u00f3n de nucle\u00f3tido a la prote\u00edna del estado de agregaci\u00f3n de \u00e9sta. Los resultados obtenidos han revelado importantes aspectos funcionales y estructurales de los componentes del transportador que pueden contribuir al mejor entendimiento de c\u00f3mo funciona el
