Con la implantaci\u00f3n de redes de comunicaciones para interconectar los dispositivos entre s\u00ed, se ampliaron las capacidades de automatizaci\u00f3n y se abri\u00f3 la posibilidad de preveer servicios operados remotamente. Sin embargo, la enorme variedad de tecnolog\u00edas involucradas introduce problemas de interoperabilidad que reducen dr\u00e1sticamente el potencial de evoluci\u00f3n de dichos servicios.  esta tesis pretende abordar el problema construyendo una infraestructura de soporte capaz de atender las demandas de futuros servicios dom\u00f3ticos de \u00e1mbito regional, nacional o incluso supra-nacional. Los aspectos contemplados abarcan la heterogeneidad de las redes dom\u00f3ticas, la escalabilidad, la tolerancia a fallos, la transparencia, la privacidad de las comunicaciones, etc. Se propone la utilizaci\u00f3n de modelos formales para el dise\u00f1o de servicios de pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n para el hogar, permitiendo la implementaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica de dichos servicios y el an\u00e1lisis autom\u00e1tico de propiedades a partir del modelo formal. Se desarrolla un entorno de modelado y ejecuci\u00f3n de servicios con caracter\u00edsticas avanzadas, como la ejecuci\u00f3n concurrente de servicios complejos descritos utilizando m\u00faltiples modelos de computaci\u00f3n. Las contribuciones principales abarcan un amplio abanico de \u00e1reas: desde el m\u00e1s bajo nivel, como la soluci\u00f3n de problemas de escalabilidad hacia abajo mediante objetos distribuidos
