Las especies anuales son probablemente las m\u00e1s adecuadas para el clima mediterr\u00e1neo ya que evitan la sequ\u00eda estival. Sin embargo, el crecimiento vegetativo se ve seriamente limitado por el fr\u00edo invierno.  en este sentido, se ha estudiado el efecto de las bajas temperaturas sobre la fisiolog\u00eda de varias leguminosas anuales (trifolium subterraneum subsp. oxaloides cv clare, t.Michelianum  cv giorgia, medicago polymorpha cv anglona, m.Truncatula cv paraggio). Se ha evaluado la capacidad de aclimataci\u00f3n al fr\u00edo determinando el crecimiento, estado h\u00eddrico, contenido en solutos, intercambio gasesoso y fluorescencia de clorofilas. Adem\u00e1s, se ha evaluado la tolerancia a la congelaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como el proceso de formaci\u00f3n de hielo con el fin de identificar los mecanismos responsables de dicha tolerancia.  los resultados obtenidos muestran una correlaci\u00f3n inversa entre el crecimiento durante el fr\u00edo y la capacidad de aclimataci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como con la posterior tolerancia a la congelaci\u00f3n. Los cultivares giorgia y anglona fueron los que mayor capacidad de aclimataci\u00f3n y tolerancia a la congelaci\u00f3n mostraron. en el cultivar clare se observ\u00f3 una buena capacidad de crecimiento durante el fr\u00edo por una pobre tolerancia a la congelaci\u00f3n, mientras que paraggio fue el cultivar m\u00e1s afectado por el fr\u00edo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
