La v\u00eda por ellos estudiada result\u00f3 ser un sistema neuroqu\u00edmico particularmente implicado en la conducta de recompensa, se trata de la proyecci\u00f3n dopamin\u00e9rgico del mesenc\u00e9falo, que se origina en el \u00e1rea tegmental ventral y sustancia negra, y termina tanto sobre regiones motoras: estriado dorsal y corteza motora, como l\u00edmbicas: corteza entorrinal, septum, am\u00eddala y n.Acumbens.  la transmisi\u00f3n sin\u00e1ptica dopamin\u00e9rgica en esta v\u00eda es incrementada no solo por est\u00edmulos el\u00e9ctricos como los descritos anteriormente, sino tambi\u00e9n en el caso de un animal deprivado, por est\u00edmulos naturales como el agua, la comida o el sexo, y por una variedad de drogas de abuso en humanos.  sin embargo se ha encontrado que la liberaci\u00f3n de da solo se observa durante el proceso de aprendizaje de la conducta de autoestimulaci\u00f3n, siendo quiz\u00e1s un componente vinculado a la novedad o a la expectaci\u00f3n por la recompensa, m\u00e1s que el substrato del componente placentero de este comportamiento, el cual quiz\u00e1s est\u00e9 representado por alg\u00fan otro sistema neuroqu\u00edmico.  es por todo esto, que el objetivo de esta investigaci\u00f3n es el estudio de la liberaci\u00f3n de dopamina y de acetilcolina, y de las posibles interacciones con glutamato y gaba en el n\u00facleo accumbens y la corteza prefrontal medial, duante la autoestimulaci\u00f3n en el fasc\u00edculo prosencef\u00e1lico medial de la rata despierta.  se trabaj\u00f3 con ratas wistar machos mantenidas en ciclo invertido de luz-oscuridad. siete d\u00edas tras la implantaci\u00f3n estereot\u00e1xia tanto de c\u00e1nulas-gu\u00eda en n.Accumbens y corteza prefrontal medial, como de electrodos de acero inoxidable en el
