Del estudio del plocamium cartilagineum se obtuvieron una serie de sustancias que incluyen dos nuevos productos. Se hace una correlacion habitat-tipos estructurales entre los plocamium cartilagineum de la antartida con los del resto del mundo.  del alga pantoneura plocamioides, se obtuvieron 19 sustancias nuevas que incluyen modelos estructurales sin precedentes. Se propone una posible ruta biogenetica para los nuevos esqueletos a partir de un precursor comun. Al encontrarse estructuras monoterpenicas que son caracteristicas de las familias plocamiaceae en pantoneura plocamioides, que es un alga que pertenece a la familia delesseriaceae (orden ceramiales), se emite la hipotesis de que entre la pantoneura plocamioides y el plocamium cartilagineum se produce una asociacion simbiotica, el alga pantoneura plocamioides es capaz de captar del plocamium cartilagineum alguna sustancia cabeza de serie biogenetica que la pantoneura plocamioides incorpora en su metabolismo para producir estructuras nuevas sin precedentes en el alga plocamium cartilagineum.  del estudio del alga delisea fimbriata se obtiene una serie de fimbrolidos junto con dos nuevas acetogeninas. Se realiza la conversion quimica de 165 en d-2, y es la primera vez que se encuentra que un alga de la familia bonnemaisoniaceae es capaz de producir acetogeninas de 7,8 y 9 atomos de
