La hojalata sin pasivar, la hojalata a y la hojalata pasivada con soluci\u00f3n acuosa de nitrato de cerio se estudiaron, tambi\u00e9n, barnizadas utilizando una resina (epoxifen\u00f3lica), frecuentemente utilizada a la industria conservera.  se han utilizado tres m\u00e9todos experimentales para la determinaci\u00f3n de la cantidad de cromo existente en la hojalata pasivada con cromo: culombimetr\u00eda, colorimetr\u00eda y mediante espectrofotometr\u00eda de absorci\u00f3n at\u00f3mica (aas). el cromo se cuantific\u00f3 en forma de cromo total (crt), cromo met\u00e1lico (crm) y \u00f3xido de cromo (crox).  se han utilizado t\u00e9cnicas electroqu\u00edmicas de corriente continua y alterna. tambi\u00e9n se ha determinado la velocidad de corrosi\u00f3n gravim\u00e9tricamente. el electr\u00f3lito soporte utilizado ha sido una soluci\u00f3n tamp\u00f3n c\u00edtrico-citrato 0,1 m, ph 4,3 y a 25\u00c2\u00bac de temperatura.  se ha realizado un estudio, basado en el modelo de mott-schottky, para determinar las propiedades f\u00edsico-qu\u00edmicas (tipo de semiconductor) de los \u00f3xidos de esta\u00f1o, cromo y cerio presentes en la superficie de la hojalata sometida al tratamiento de pasivaci\u00f3n.  la consistencia de los datos de impedancia se ha estudiado calculando las relaciones de kramers-kronig.  se llevaron a cabo estudio de la morfolog\u00eda de las capas pasivas y de la composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmcia mediante sem y edx, complet\u00e1ndose con medidas xps para estudiar la composici\u00f3n de las capas superficiales formadas sobre los distintos
